Last updated 22/12/20

A number of areas in the UK are facing restrictions to manage Coronavirus outbreaks. This may include travel restrictions such as only using public transport when it’s necessary.

Timetables will be amended over the festive period. See Christmas and New Year timetable page for more details.

If you need to travel make sure you have the most up to date information by planning your journey in advance to avoid busy times and routes. You can also check for updates on twitter.

Please remember to wear your face covering throughout your whole journey, unless you’re exempt.

There is more information on travel restrictions below:

Scotland

A tiered system of protection levels (Levels 0-4) is in operation in Scotland. Find out the protection level for your area.

From 26th December 2020, mainland Scotland will enter into Tier 4.  You should follow the rules on meeting up and travelling for your level.

If you live in a level 4 local ity area you should:

  • Avoid any unnecessary travel out of the area
  • Keep journeys within the area to a minimum

If you live in a level 3 local ity area you should:

  • Avoid any unnecessary travel out of the area
  • If you have to travel for essential purposes, follow the guidance on travelling safely

Advice from the Scottish Government is currently that public transport should be used for essential purposes only and left for those who need it.

We would like to reassure you that bus services will continue to operate to connect you to the people and places that matter most, for the most recent service updates and timetables please visit our service update page and enter your location.
